The Countdown.....

Happy Holidays!
Just returned from the most festive ski town and one of my all-time favorite resorts--SILVER STAR!! We have not completed 7 races and only have 4 more before they pick the team. The season is flying!
I was so happy to be able to race in Bozeman a few weekends ago. However, I think the hometown setting gave me some extra jitters, and I managed to flop in the sprint....BIG disappointment. Not a great day but I learned that a terrible day can lead to great things. I pulled a 180 and… Continue

West, Turkey, and Races

Happy Thanksgiving (a little late I guess)!

Just finished our last workout of the camp and we're psyched to be headed home. Leif and I have been been on the road for awhile and I'm craving some R&R and home-cooked meals. I think we have a lot to be thankful for this week- our rock star coaches who kept the energy going for the entire week, our awesome waxers (shout out to Floyd for his serious dedication!), and some super fun, talented junior team members. It was definitely a great camp.
As… Continue

Skiing in Silver Star!

After a rushed, last-minute departure and a very very long drive, Leif and I made it up to Silver Star, B.C. for 10 days of skiing. Seeing as West doesn't have any snow yet, I'm pretty psyched to be up here. The snow on the Silver Start trails is decent considering it's still early November (still on rocks skis though), but the skiing down the road at Sovereign Lakes is unbelievable. We've had two mornings of perfect skiing- freshly groomed with hard classic tracks...I bet we have some of the be… Continue

Skiing?

Hello from snow country!

The snow is flying. I think winter is coming early to give us a the nice advantage of some early season skiing...I'm ready! Sorry it's been awhile since my last post, but time gets away from me in the fall. I was loving the autumn weather--colorful trail runs, cool afternoon roller-skiing...and then....
We're looking forward to some skiing but in the meantime we've been getting pretty creative to come up with some quality workouts. We completed an intensity block a few… Continue

Fall is here!

Hello to all!
It's time to transition to fall training so I thought I'd write a quick update and let you know how things are going. Summer flew by, but I'm happy to report good things on the training front. I successfully completed four months of solid training and am feeling fast and furious. Last summer I was dealing with a back injury and could not do much training, so I am more than satisfied with my progress. Canmore Camp was a perfect way to finish off summer training--I logged some qualit… Continue
